What are Midterm Rentals?

I'll admit, before getting into midterm rentals I didn't even know they were a thing.  I mean I understood the concept, sometimes people need to stay in a place longer than a weekend rental but shorter than a 12 month lease.  What I didn't realize was that there is a name for it, or that it is a whole business model.

I kind of stumbled into it by accident.  I was trying to describe to my realtor what type of rental I had in mind, and he said, “Oh - you mean you want to do midterm rentals?” And the rest is history…

Even now, when I’m talking with people who are more experienced landlords and hosts, a lot aren’t familiar with the term “midterm rental.” Which honestly makes me feel a lot better about where I started.
